From the North

At Carlisle follow the A595 for 26 miles, At the roundabout take 1st exit to Cockermouth Town Centre. Across bridge turn left and shortly passing the Trout Hotel, turn right into Sullart Street, second left to Station Street and right onto Lorton Street at the traffic lights. After 0.5 mile turn right into Vicarage Lane, leading into Simonscales Lane. 50 metres past last house turn left into a private lane leading to Violet Bank.

From the South

Exit M6 at Junction 40 onto A66 Keswick. Continue on A66 into Cockermouth, through traffic lights on bend to next set of lights, then follow above directions as from Lorton Street.
